I’m happy to announce that I will be presenting at #APA2021, in a collaborative symposium with three interesting and innovative peers and in a poster session. Both presentations involve approaches to science that are creative, involving awareness of enaction, a comprehensive way to describe subtle levels of awareness and knowing arising in the body, but also awareness of the organic wisdom of all systems. In the poster session I focus on ways of accessing enactive experience in one’s own body. In the symposium four of us share ways of exploring enactive processes in a wide range of situations.
The symposium, Recognizing and Enhancing Enactive Awareness in Science, Research, and Academia, is offered by presenters (in order of presentation):
- Introduction to Three Levels of an Enactive Science, Mary Rees PhD (Psychology and Interdisciplinary Inquiry), Conscious Dynamics®
- Using Embodied and Enacted Research Methods to Study Lived Meditation Experience, Willeke Rietdijk PhD (Education), Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam
- The Playful Academic: Introducing Playful Research Practice as a Means to Enact Radical Curiosity and Courage, Annika Lübbert MS (Brain and Mind Sciences) UKE
- The Mindful Researcher: Transforming Academia From Within Through Co-Creating an Enactive Science, Wolfgang Lukas PhD (Physics), IGDORE
My poster presentation, An Approach to Science: Awareness of Enaction focuses on accessing pre-representational awareness based on models from different domains and a theory for an approach to science that could help us create in a way that is compatible with evolutionary processes.
