I’ve been blogging less because I am doing so much other writing. I am back in school. Just as I was being bombarded with retirement planning solicitations I choose another graduate degree. I am not ready to retire. It feels like the right time to begin to apply, in a more focused way, what I’ve been learning experientially about mind into further professional applications. I hope to pick up the blog a little more this summer and perhaps begin to share a little of what I am doing. My field of investigation is psychology and interdisciplinary studies with specialization in creativity and research likely in systems theory and organizational applications. This is a broad field including all of my passionate interests. It is inspired by a deep hope for our future and trust that we can each make a difference by simply being faithful to our own personal integrity.
I’ve completed one semester. It has been a pleasure. I have been able to maintain my formal meditation practice, but skillful mind states during the day are more challenging. Thanks to a retreat the fourth week of the semester, I was able to relax the mind hungry for ideas. After the retreat I dropped one course and eased up on my goalfor completing the degree quickly. No intention is worth losing the quality of the mind that inspired it.
